Paws & Presence is personal pet care built around the individual needs of your pet.
Every animal is different. They have their own personality, routines, preferences and ways of feeling safe and comfortable — and we believe their care should reflect that.
Rather than expecting pets to adapt to unfamiliar surroundings or a one-size-fits-all approach, we come to them. Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in visit or pet sitting, care takes place around their normal routine and, for pet sitting, in the familiarity of their own home.
We take the time to get to know each animal, build trust and understand what makes them feel happiest and most settled. It’s not simply about completing a task — it’s about giving them genuine attention, companionship and care.
The aim is simple: pet care that fits around your pet, helping them feel safe, understood and completely at ease.

At Paws & Presence, we believe good care starts with understanding the animal in front of us.
Every pet has their own personality, history, sensitivities, routines and ways of communicating. Some thrive on activity and adventure, while others need patience, reassurance, quiet companionship or simply the comfort of familiar surroundings.
Our approach is centred around meeting each animal where they are, rather than expecting them to fit into a set way of being cared for.
Emotional wellbeing matters - we pay attention not just to feeding, walking and practical care, but to how your pet is feeling. We notice their body language, energy and behaviour, and adjust our approach accordingly.
Trust comes first - we allow relationships to develop at the animal’s pace, giving them the time and space they need to feel comfortable and secure.
Care is individual - walks, visits and time together are shaped around the needs of that particular pet, whether they need stimulation, calm, affection, reassurance or simply company.
Presence over rushing - we want animals to feel genuinely seen and cared for, rather than feeling like another appointment in a busy schedule.
Our aim is for every animal in our care to feel safe, understood, emotionally settled and genuinely cared for.

Simple, personal pet care tailored to your animal’s individual needs, personality and routine.🐾 Overnight Pet Sitting — £45 per night
Loving, personalised care in your pet’s own home, including overnight companionship, feeding, walks and maintaining their usual routine.
This service allows for periods of 2–4 hours at a time during the day when I may need to leave to attend to other commitments. All arrangements will be discussed and agreed in advance.🐾 Overnight Pet Sitting with Constant Care — £75 per night
For pets who need continuous companionship, extra reassurance or supervision throughout the day and night.
This service includes everything in standard overnight pet sitting, with the added benefit of my dedicated presence throughout the day, ensuring your pet is never left alone.
The higher rate reflects the exclusive care and time commitment involved, as I'm unable to take on other bookings during this time.🐾30-Minute Dog Walk - £18
A relaxed, individual walk tailored to your dog’s age, energy and usual routine, with plenty of time to sniff, explore and enjoy being a dog.🐾60-Minute Dog Walk - £25
Perfect for dogs who enjoy a longer adventure, more exercise or simply a little extra time outdoors.🐾30-Minute Pet Drop-In - £18
For cats, dogs, puppies and other much-loved pets who need care while you’re away or out for the day. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, toilet or litter care, play, companionship, medication where appropriate, and photo updates.🐾Additional Pet - +£10
An additional £10 applies for each additional pet.🐾Free Meet & Greet
Before your first booking, we’ll meet you and your pets, talk through their routines and individual needs, and make sure everyone feels completely comfortable.
a bit about me...
Hi, I’m Hannah, the person behind Paws & Presence.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve grown up with dogs, shared my life with rescue dogs, and have years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and personalities.
My love for animals has also taken me further afield. While spending time in India, I cared for street dogs and helped injured dogs and puppies — an experience that deepened my belief that animals deserve kindness, patience and genuine connection.
I created Paws & Presence because I wanted to offer the kind of pet care I would want for my own animals: personal, reliable and centred around the individual pet. I know how important it is to have someone you genuinely trust caring for them, particularly when they’re happiest staying within their own familiar home and routine.
For me this is much more than simply walking a dog or popping in to feed a cat. I love getting to know each animal’s personality, building a bond with them and making sure they feel safe, relaxed and cared for.
My aim is for you to leave your pet knowing they’re with someone who will care for them with the same kindness and attention I’d give my own.

I currently cover Harrogate, Starbeck, Hampsthwaite and nearby villages and neighbourhoods.
